Last year marked an extraordinary milestone for Kantabile Afrika as we were featured, in National Geographic Traveller Magazine.
This feature recognised our commitment to eco-luxury, regenerative travel, and the unforgettable experiences we create in the heart of the Serengeti. From the breathtaking beauty of Cherero Camp to the intentional way we blend sustainability with luxury, this article captured the very essence of what makes Kantabile Afrika so special.
Here is a short snippet from the article itself:
“Kantabile Afrika is a boutique, owner-run operator in Tanzania that was born out of a passion project. Cherero Camp, a member of Regenerative Hotels, is in a secluded area of central-west Serengeti, while Aurari Camp, the venue for Kantabile’s inaugural wellness retreat, is nested in the Mara River region where the Great Wildebeest Migration takes place annually. The camps are the result of the co-founders’ determination to stay true to their own values and beliefs, by challenging the status quo and operating their business in the ‘right’ way, both in terms of the environment and social impact.
With an eco-friendly approach to luxury, the two camps are built to the highest standard, comprising wood and canvas and with no permanent structures in place so the tents can be moved entirely without leaving a trace. The spacious tented suites are serviced by solar power systems and solar water heaters, so guests’ comfort isn’t compromised. Each oversized tented suite offers an interior living space of 50sq metres, plus a private verandah for watching the African sunrise or enjoying a drink as the sun goes down.”
